Regional Design Centres for design-led wireless m2m connectivity
The Stadium Group regional design centre (RDC) for customer-focused wireless technology development is located at the Kista Science City in Stockholm, Sweden.
The design centre is steered by a dedicated team of high calibre wireless electronics design engineers and technical specialists who have a wealth of expertise in the areas of mobile connectivity, telematics and M2M.
The Kista design centre is the fourth design centre to be established by Stadium since 2015 following the opening of RDCs in Shanghai, Norwich and Eastleigh (UK).
The office space and laboratory at the Kista Science City was chosen as the primary location for Stadium’s wireless design activity, and as the hub for the Group’s Technology Board, due to its recognised status as one of the world’s leading high-tech clusters, often referred to as Europe’s ‘Wireless Valley’.
Kista Science City is one of the world’s leading high-tech clusters. Of the nearly 28,000 employees in some 750 Kista companies, two-thirds work in the ICT sector, from the major international enterprise to small privately-owned ICT businesses.
Kista Science City is located centrally in the Stockholm region, 15 minutes from Central Station on the underground railway and 15 minutes from the main Stockholm airport at Arlanda.
It also has the advantage of being close to Sweden’s financial centre in central Stockholm. Companies and researchers are found along the entire value chain within wireless systems, mobile services and broadband systems – the three strategic areas for Kista Science City.
The Regional Design Centre (RDC) for Asia in Shanghai’s Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park focuses on the development of wireless machine to machine (M2M) products primarily in the automotive, medical and security vertical markets.
We have recruited a highly experienced team including design engineers and field application engineers, specialized in wireless, RF and M2M technology. The RDC features a working laboratory with the necessary equipment and processes in place to deliver high quality design and test solutions.”
Stadium’s footprint in Asia, delivered by the Shanghai design centre and the established electronics manufacturing facility in Dongguan, offers customers globally and locally in the Asia Pacific market access to high quality design and engineering support, with a far eastern manufacturing solution.
China is one of the fastest growing markets for IoT applications and is forecast to be the largest growth market for M2M solutions over the next 5 years.
Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park covers an area of 120 km² on the Pudong side of the city. It is host to a large number of industries including integrated circuits, software, biopharmaceuticals, bankcards, information security, semi-conductor illumination, cultural originality and modern agriculture.
A high number of multinationals also have their research and development centres located on this Hi-Tech park with a high calibre talent pool in the area for electronics engineering and related skills.
