As a leading design-led technology business, our Regional Design Centres (RDCs) provide focused stand-alone design support for the development of wireless, power and HMI products.
The dedicated engineering teams based at the RDCs in Stockholm, Shanghai and Norwich (UK) are well positioned to drive technology developments in power management, wireless connectivity, green products and miniaturisation.
The regional design centre for wireless technology development in Sweden is located at the Kista Science City in Stockholm and delivers customer-focused, design-led wireless technology development primarily serving Stadium’s wireless business. Steered by a team of high calibre wireless electronics design engineers and technical sales specialists whose expertise is in the areas of mobile connectivity, machine-to-machine (M2M) devices and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Kista Science City AB is the largest Information and Communication Technology (ICT) cluster in Europe and the third largest ICT cluster in the world. Kista Science City, or the Nordic Silicon Valley as it is also called, is the home of more than 1,000 ICT companies and the birthplace of wireless communication technologies such as NMT, GSM, EDGE and W-CDMA.
The regional design centre for wireless technology in Shanghai delivers research and development in Wireless M2M connectivity for global OEM products in the automotive, telematics, UBI and security vertical markets.
Located in Shanghai’s Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, the regional design centre is home to the Group’s leading design engineers and field application engineers, specialising in wireless, RF and M2M technology. The facility features a working laboratory to deliver high quality design and test solutions.
The design facility in Shanghai is supported by the established manufacturing centre in Dongguan, China and regional fulfilment centre in Hong Kong, providing a solid design, manufacturing and fulfilment model in the Asia Pacific market.
China is one of the fastest growing markets for IoT applications.
The regional design centre for power in Norwich delivers custom product design and the development of power technologies.
Based at Norwich Research Park and connected to local universities, the power RDC is well positioned to facilitate leading Stadium’s technology developments in power management, wireless connectivity, green products and miniaturisation.
The facility features a fully equipped laboratory, exclusively for the design, prototype and test of power products and is home to the UK power engineering team. It contains rapid prototyping equipment including 3D printers and an extensive suite of other test equipment including EMC measurement for emissions and susceptibility, thermal analysis, lifetime testing and power analysis.
The regional design centre for HMI technologies operates adjacent to the Eastleigh HMI manufacturing facility. The RDC is focused on developing the interface, displays and HMI technology roadmap for the group and has already delivered a stream of innovations including thin film backlighting, capacitive switch modules and touch to exit products.
Our internal design and engineering team offer expertise in Hardware, Software, and System Integration for HMI solutions, able to provide both rapid turn-round prototyping and low-cost volume manufacturing.
