JOB TITLE: Assembly Technician

DEPARTMENT: Production

REPORTING TO: Production Manager


LOCATION: Reading (UK) – Stadium Stontronics

HOURLY RATE: £7.60 per hour


Complete assembly tasks required to support the production of electric powered devices, as detailed below.

Key skills

  • Work as a team, assist other team members, and help create a pleasant working environment
  • Work along side the Quality department to ensure we manufacture a quality product
  • Assembly and soldering of small components like resistors and connectors
  • Basic knowledge of Soldering & Tinning of wires, using soldering irons or tinning pot
  • Crimping of cables/wires and use of various crimping tools
  • Understanding of Manufacturing & Wiring Procedures
  • Use of hand tools, (Screwdrivers, wire cutters, wire strippers etc.)
  • Use of workshop machinery, (Wire cutting/Stripping, Pillar Drill, Cable/Heat shrink cutting)
  • Adhere to Health & Safety Procedures, PPE/RPE including Environmental policies
  • Understanding of company targets, requirements and complete work within reasonable time limits

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out duties given by Lead Technicians, Supervisors and Managers,
  • Assembly of various AC or DC adaptors, including input and output leads,
  • Changing of connectors, label changing and adding P.S.U.s into pre-assembled cases,
  • Training to include Health & Safety, Production, Quality, WEEE Waste etc,
  • Completing Data Sheets, Time sheets, Production sheets etc.

Other responsibilities

  • Kitting assembly jobs, including leads, heat shrink etc. Inform purchasing of shortages
  • Resin Application adhering to all Environmental and Hazard Waste procedures
  • Varnishing of transformers adhering to all Environmental and Hazard Waste procedures
  • Lamming Transformers ready for welding, including hand lamming
  • Welding laminations, using a custom made welding machine
  • T/C/O Soldering/Tinning, leading of transformers
  • Coil Winding, Taping using machines including programming of winding machines
  • Any other reasonable duties as required
